Educational Workshops

Passionate about the importance of having an understanding of business at an early age. Alex is delighted to have launched an educational workshop aimed at KS2 that enables creativity, critical thinking ad problem solving. Currently on offer in the South West.

This workshop can be complimentry to Young Enterprise.

The objective of the workshop is to provide Key Stage 2 pupils an accessible and enjoyable introduction to the foundational principles of business development. Recognising the importance of early exposure to entrepreneurial concepts, the workshop is aimed to make learning about business engaging and relatable to young learners.

Through a series of interactive activities and discussions, we create an environment where pupils actively participate and explore key aspects of business, from concept by incorporating hands-on exercises and group discussions. The workshop facilitates experiential learning, allowing children to grasp complex concepts in a practical and memorable way.

This workshop encourages creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Presenting challenges and opportunities for innovation, to instil confidence in the pupil’s ability to generate ideas and pursue entrepreneurial ventures.

By showcasing the relevance of business in everyday life the workshop aims to inspire children to explore future career paths and cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset from a young age.

Workshop Activities

  • Introduction

    The session begins with an icebreaker activity where pupils interactive and help create a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.

    A simplified explanation of what a business is and it’s importance in society is given. Examples of well-known businesses familiar to pupils are used to illustrate key concepts.

  • Business Development

    In small groups and tasked with brainstorming ideas for their own imaginary businesses. Encouraging creative thinking and innovation.

    Each group is guided through the process of developing a basic business plan for their idea. They will learn about essential components such as identifying their target market, creating a product or service, and setting prices.

  • Marketing

    The pupils are introduced to the concept of marketing. Covering different strategies businesses use to attract customers. Pupils will learn about advertising, branding, and the importance of understanding customer needs.

  • Business Strategy

    Through interactive exercises, the pupils will gain an understanding of how businesses make money and what practices are put in place to make it a sustainable venture.

  • Presentation

    Each group will have the opportunity to present their business idea and plan to the rest of the workshop participants. This activity helps improve their communication and presentation skills and is a great confidence booster.

  • Reflection and Feedback

    The workshop concludes with a feedback session where pupils share their thoughts and reflections on what they have learned. They are encouraged to think about how areas of education are key to building a business and how they can apply their new knowledge and skills in real life.
